Kurjis (, Pashto: کرجس) is a 1965 Pakistani war film written and directed by Ayub Khan-Din, and starring Wasim Mir, Sanam Baloch, and Ejaz Khan. The film was released in 1965 and tells the story of a police force of the same name. The film was released on 12 January 1965 and also went on to receive critical acclaim.
Plot
Kurjis is an attack on Pakistan's reputation that was made by a gang of bandits who were given arms by the enemy. The film is an example of the propaganda that Ayub Khan used to defend his regime, as well as a moral crusade against crime. The story is about a bandit gang called Kurjis, who is eventually caught by the police, led by Colonel Hamidullah. He then uses his moral authority as a soldier of the law to apprehend and punish the criminals. The bandits are shown to be corrupt, lying, cruel, and violent, and they are killed in the end. The film was a success at the box office.

Critical reception
The movie was a moderate success and it won the first award for Best Film at the Pakistan Film Festival.
The film has been described as "a very well made war film with excellent acting, direction and a brave plot".
In 2016, the film was selected to be screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.
